National RoofingStandards Alliance
ABOUT NRSA

Clear commitments.
A shared responsibility.

Homeowners deserve to know what to expect. Roofing businesses deserve a clear way to show what they stand for.

National Roofing Standards Alliance brings those two needs together through a published Homeowner Commitment, a membership program, and a record homeowners can check.

WHY WE EXIST

Make the important
things easier to see.

A roofing project is a significant decision. We believe the way a business communicates, documents its promises, and responds to concerns deserves to be visible alongside its work.

NRSA is an independent, privately operated membership association, funded through annual membership fees. Membership is available to roofing businesses in the U.S. and Canada that sign and uphold our member commitments.

NRSA publishes and administers its own Code of Standards. It is not a government agency or a building-code authority.

WHAT MEMBERSHIP MEANS

A signed commitment to responsible business.

The badge identifies a current member that has signed the NRSA Homeowner Commitment. Members attest to their own business practices, licensing and insurance obligations.

NRSA does not independently verify credentials or inspect roofing work as a condition of joining. Membership is not a workmanship certification or guarantee of project outcomes. Homeowners should confirm current licensing, insurance, references and the project contract before hiring.

REMAINING A MEMBER

The commitment continues.

Members must follow the Code, keep their business details and required credentials current, notify NRSA of material changes, and cooperate with Code concerns. NRSA may request updated evidence. Badge use is permitted only while membership is active.

Standard membership is $399 USD/year. Any company-specific invitation rate is confirmed before payment. Membership renews automatically at the agreed rate until canceled. Renewal payment does not override a suspension or revocation.

IF YOU HAVE A CONCERN

A clear route to raise it.

  1. Write to the member first. Members commit to acknowledging complaints within five business days.
  2. If your concern relates to the Code, contact NRSA with the company name, relevant dates, the commitment involved, and supporting documents.
  3. NRSA reviews the information, asks the member for a response, and records a decision. Depending on the evidence, we may request corrective action, suspend membership, or revoke it. The member can request reconsideration with new evidence.

This process addresses membership conduct. NRSA does not decide legal liability, award compensation, or replace your other options for resolving a dispute. No resolution time or outcome is guaranteed.
